Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has announced that it will collaborate with Vietnam Railway Equipment Development Company (Jinxin Group, China) to test a new passenger train to enhance the quality of passenger service.
From August 9 to October 7, 2024, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will conduct commercial testing of new train cars manufactured by Jinxin in the SNT6 and SNT3 train services on the Saigon - Nha Trang route, with a frequency of one trip every two days.
The SNT6 train departs from Saigon at 10:15 PM and arrives in Nha Trang at 8:05 AM. The stations for boarding and alighting are: Saigon, Di An, Bien Hoa, Thap Cham, and Nha Trang.
The SNT3 train departs from Nha Trang at 10:20 PM and arrives in Saigon at 9:15 AM. The stations for boarding and alighting are: Saigon, Di An, Bien Hoa, and Nha Trang.
Specially, for the first 5 pairs of trains in operation, passengers will receive a 5% discount on tickets.
Additionally, the railway sector continues to offer discounts up to 15%, such as: a 5-15% discount for tickets purchased more than 10 days in advance (not applicable to 4-bed compartments); a 3-12% discount for group tickets for 11 or more people; and a 5-10% discount for return tickets.
Vietnam Railways Corporation maintains regular discount policies for social policy beneficiaries such as Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, Agent Orange victims, people with severe disabilities, and the elderly; discounts for children, students, union members, and loyalty cardholders. Travel agencies participating in tourism promotion programs are also eligible for discounts.
Previously, Jinxin Group (China) contracted with Gia Lam Railway Joint Stock Company and Di An Coach Joint Stock Company to assemble and manufacture 13 luxury passenger cars. The project includes 6 sleeper cars, 5 seat cars, 1 dining car, and 1 power generator car. All equipment and parts for the cars are imported, with the two railway factories only assembling and constructing the car bodies... The total value of the 13 cars is over 275 billion VND. The cars were introduced at the 42nd ASEAN Railway Conference in Da Nang in 2022.
