Traffic police in Hanoi used sand to clean up a 40-meter oil spill at night. Responding to reports of a dangerous oil slick at the Lý Thái Tổ - Trần Nguyên Hãn intersection, officer Hùng and his team obtained sand and cleaned up the spill. Social media posts on February 21st showed the officers spreading sand to cover the oil, which had appeared around 9:30 pm on February 20th and covered almost two-thirds of the road. The posts praised the officers' quick action in ensuring road safety. One witness, Nguyễn Quang Đạo, described seeing the officers directing traffic around the slick while spreading sand, preventing potential accidents. Officer Phan Mạnh Hùng, from the Hanoi Traffic Police, explained that he received the report and personally acquired sand to deal with the spill, which had worsened after someone attempted to wash it away. He and his team, in cooperation with local police, ensured road safety.
