Fifty years have passed. But for me, every time I see the red flag unfurl, my heart still beats excitedly, just as it did the first time I heard the national anthem at Ba Dinh Square.

Uncle Ho stood silently among the crowd that day – amidst the rhythmic footsteps and the upward gazes following the steel birds [airplanes]. He didn't speak much, only smiling when someone asked, "Uncle, what do you think of today?"

He said, "I feel I am still a small part of something great. Just like how our people, wherever they are, all look towards two words: Vietnam."

That great celebration wasn't just a reminder of history. It was an affirmation that this nation – over the past fifty years – has continued to move forward, always maintaining its identity amidst the changing tides of life.
