Following the success of the "Library on the Rocks" – a library for students in the remote area of Dong Van, Ha Giang – the "Flood-Resistant Library" has been established in Quang Binh, a region inhabited by the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group in the high mountainous border area.

The library features over 3,000 physical books, including many useful titles for children, 500 audio books available online, and numerous scholarships for children facing severe hardships in Trung Son Village, Truong Son Commune, Quang Ninh District, Quang Binh Province. This initiative is part of the "Flood-Resistant Library" program organized by the Youth Union of the Information Technology Center and the Online Newspaper of the Fatherland (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

Trung Son Village is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage and pristine beauty. However, it frequently suffers from floods and landslides, which disrupt the community and create difficulties for residents. With limited infrastructure and restricted access to information, the "Flood-Resistant Library" has provided valuable knowledge and joy to the local people and children.

Additionally, the program has awarded 30 scholarships to impoverished students, along with many gifts and school supplies for the new academic year.

The organizers also provided gift packages to needy families, each valued at 2,000,000 VND.

Mr. Nguyen Giang Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the IT Center, stated, "Since 2023, we have been implementing programs to bring reading culture to highland and island communities, receiving support from leaders at all levels and philanthropists. With the goal of delivering as much knowledge as possible, especially to children, this year we chose Trung Son Village, home to the Bru-Van Kieu people. The children here were very excited to learn about the upcoming library filled with books, stories, and toys. We aim to expand the reading culture across many regions nationwide, and we will continue to build more libraries throughout the country."
