Day 1

Morning
Experience local life in Da Nang by taking a morning beach swim before sunrise. Da Nang Beach stretches over 10 km, but locals often gather at the end of Pham Van Dong or Nguyen Van Thoai streets. After swimming, find a nearby chair to sunbathe, enjoy a coconut, and have breakfast.

Follow the coastal road south to the Marble Mountains, a must-visit spot, especially for first-time visitors. This site is linked to the five elements of Eastern philosophy: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth, represented by five limestone peaks gifted by nature. These mountains were mined for stone for decades and are now a spiritual destination with temples.

Lunch and Afternoon
After exploring the Marble Mountains, return to the coastal road for a seafood lunch at Be Man Restaurant. Michelin experts recommend trying the steamed squid with ginger and green onions, served with lettuce.

Post-lunch, visit the Cham Sculpture Museum. Summers in Da Nang can be very hot during the day, so enjoying some cool air inside the museum is ideal. Here, you’ll learn about the rulers of Central Vietnam from centuries past. The Cham people are renowned for their intricate Hindu deity sculptures. The museum showcases a rich collection of art.

As the weather cools, head to 113 Nguyen Chi Thanh, a popular café area among students. Various styles from classic to hip hop and "healing" are available. Walk 5 minutes north to Dien Hai Citadel to visit the Da Nang Museum, which displays the transformation of Da Nang from a small fishing village to a prosperous city in just a few decades.

Evening
Enjoy a light dinner with Da Nang specialties at Bun Cha Ca 109, close to the mentioned spots. A bowl of fish cake noodles with seafood broth, accompanied by bamboo shoots, cabbage, pineapple, fried fish balls, and crab cakes, would be a fitting choice.

Addresses:
  • Marble Mountains: 81 Huyen Tran Cong Chua, Ngu Hanh Son District
  • Be Man Restaurant: Lot 8 Vo Nguyen Giap, Son Tra District
  • Cham Sculpture Museum: 2 September Street, Hai Chau District
  • Dien Hai Citadel: Hai Chau District

Day 2

Morning
There’s no need to wake up as early as the first day, but you should head to Son Tra Peninsula while the weather is still cool. Rent a motorbike to reach Linh Ung Pagoda and climb to see the Quan Am statue, visible from the beach in the city center. Continue a bit further to visit a wildlife conservation area, home to the rare red-shanked douc langur.

Lunch and Afternoon
On your way back to the city center, stop by Năm Hiền on Phan Thanh Street for lunch with local specialties. A standout dish here is the bánh xèo, a rice flour pancake with shrimp and bean sprouts, served with sweet and sour peanut dipping sauce.

If you enjoy museums or still have time, visit the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum. It features a diverse collection of Central Vietnamese artists' works in various media including oil painting, sculpture, and lacquer. At sunset, relax on the beach or take another swim.

Evening
Dinner by the Han River is a great option. Luk Lak offers refined Vietnamese dishes and Michelin suggests trying the grilled minced beef with lemongrass.
After dinner, stroll along Bach Dang Street by the river to admire Da Nang's distinctive bridges. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can witness the Dragon Bridge breathing fire at 9 PM. If you wish to extend your evening, head to a riverside bar.
