Vietnam made remarkable progress in the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) in 2024, ranking 71st globally, up 15 places compared to 2022. Vietnam's score reached 0.7709, higher than the average of Southeast Asia and the world. With this improvement, Vietnam is among the top 5 lower-middle-income countries with a high EGDI score, surpassing Brunei in the region.

According to the United Nations report, Vietnam's progress is measured by three criteria: telecommunications infrastructure, human resources, and online services. Vietnam has achieved significant milestones by implementing platforms such as the National Document Interoperability System, the National Public Service Portal, and the National Reporting Information System, contributing to the modernization of government operations and improving the quality of public services. The government continues to push for digital transformation to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness.
